With the launch of the second season of Netflix's The Witcher, the show's microsite needed an update. This was an opportunity not only to improve the design and add content from the new season, but to rethink the role of the platform in Netflix's digital ecosystem. Netflix have a significant interest in the success of the Witcher IP and wanted to create an experiential universe for fans to explore, engage, and celebrate a mutual love for the lore.
Together with Netflix, we identified 4 key objectives based on fan needs: aid the viewing experience with context, add more content to increase the depth of the world, answer fan questions, and create a community feeling and two way engagement with fans.
The renewed site was met with fan and critical acclaim, with particularly positive sentiment around the immersive design and utility.
